There's not much to tell about me. I was born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia, but fate brought me a thousand miles to the east, to this city called Surabaya, pursuing my education. I'm a guy who likes to watch movies, a lot.  I don't really recall from when this 'addiction' came. I'm fascinated with mystery, detective and thrilling stories. But mostly, I watch any kind of movies. Sometimes arthouses but mainly mainstreams. Don't mean to brag, but having already watched a considerable amount of films, it's hard to narrow down my favorite films into a short list, cause it's a lot. Though I'd pick The Shawshank Redemption (1994) as the one that changed my life. These three are my favorite directors so far and I'm always looking forward on what they are doing next: David Fincher, Christopher Nolan and Steven Spielberg. Oh, and add Sofia Coppola there too. For additions, I'm a huge fan of John Mayer and Coldplay. and Girls' Generation (I'm a hardcore SONE and Taeganger for life! lol). I listen to many singers and bands, but those 3 are the ones I love the most.

I started blogging since 2009, but when it comes to reviewing films, it was way back when Friendster was cool. It used to have this feature that allowed users to post reviews on films, books, places, events, etc. Because I also like to write, I started to use that feature to write short and simple review on films I had watched. Then, I moved to Facebook, using its Notes feature. The first time I wanted to make my own blog was when I stumbled upon one Indonesian blogger who also writes film reviews on his blog. It was GilaSinema (now, CurhatSinema). My interest on making my own blog grew after I found that there are more movie bloggers in Indonesia. In my experience, I've seen so many movie bloggers come and go. I'm still amazed actually that I still manage to blog despite my hectic schedule. Though I don't post as frequently as before, but I do hope that I can still continue blogging for a long time (Amen!). I write my reviews 98% in Indonesian.

What does the word VAMPIBOTS mean? It's an acronym of 'Vampire' and 'Robots'. 'Vampire' came from Darren Shan, one of my favorite book series (he's a vampire). And 'Robots' because I was drooling for Transformers at the time (esp Autobots). I know it's a bit cheesy, but Vampibots has become my screen name since that time. PS: I've made reviews for John Mayer's albums if you want to check em out: Room For Squares, Heavier Things, Continuum and Battle Studies.

Haha look at me babbling like this. Well, thanks for all the visitors who come and comment on my blog, really mean so much to me. Happy reading!
